CH-SBH (Child Help Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus), Blantyre. The Malawian organisation is part of the Child Help family. It has members in the three major hospitals in Malawi, covering all regions of the country. CH-SBH cares for children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, organises seminars on continence management and offers training for staff, people with disabilities and parents.

Child-Help Malawi also raises awareness of the disabilities spina bifida and hydrocephalus, for example through its own information brochures. The organisation also provides numerous women of childbearing age with folic acid. A good supply of folic acid before and during pregnancy significantly reduces the risk of having a child with a neural tube defect such as spina bifida by around 70 per cent.
