For our project in partnership with Bethany Kids in Kenya, we are looking for an external evaluator to assess the impact, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of the project.
In Kenya, at least 4,000 children are born with spina bifida each year, 66% of whom also develop hydrocephalus. There are only 2 public hospitals providing surgical care and a limited number of neurosurgeons. For families from rural areas, the travel distance to these hospitals is very long and clinics closer to where they live often have limited resources, knowledge and staff, resulting in little to no information about the causes, treatment and lifelong care of children born with these disabilities.
This gap is bridged by mobile clinics at the private hospital in Kijabe, Bethany Kids, the project we want to evaluate. Interested? Send your application by November 20, 2024 to Lies Blondelle at [email protected] The Terms of reference for this evaluation can be found here.
